EarthScale is back for cohort 2! Applications are open for our national 12-month programme that helps climate tech ventures to scale, navigate manufacturing and raise Series A funding. Applications close on Monday, 13 April 2026.

EarthScale supports ventures developing climate solutions for net zero or climate resilience, at TRL or SwRL 5-6, and between Seed to Series A. The programme has a strong focus on hardware and hybrid solutions. For cohort 2, we are extending eligibility to software-only ventures as well, widening the range of innovators we can support.

Got questions about EarthScale or how to apply?

You can join one of our informal Q&A webinars to meet the team, hear more about the programme and application process, and ask anything you’re curious about. We’re running two identical sessions (you only need to attend one):

If you already have a specific question, email [email protected] and we’ll make sure to cover it in the session.

What’s in it for you?

Once accepted onto the EarthScale programme, each company receives a venture diagnostic to develop a tailored programme of support, which can include:

  • Access to cutting-edge labs, facilities, and university expertise via pre-paid innovation vouchers.
  • Investor introductions and 1:1 investment readiness support.
  • Support on hiring, executive talent and navigating policy, certifications and regulations.

Our holistic programme has been developed with input from founders and investors on what matters most at this stage, with themes across technical and manufacturing support, enterprise development, talent engagement and policy navigation. Beyond tailored support, you’ll gain access to workshops, roundtables and events designed to tackle shared challenges, explore key scaling topics and connect with fellow founders.

By the end of the 12-month journey, our goal is for each venture to have advanced significantly in its technical, manufacturing, and commercial readiness, putting you in a strong position to raise Series A investment.

But don’t just take our word for it. Hear from our current cohort on the support they have received so far.

“EarthScale stands out through its deep academic connectivity and tailored and flexible support across multiple domains. Unlike other more rigid or industry-specific programmes, EarthScale enables us to engage with world-leading universities and experts in ways that are directly relevant to our evolving needs, fostering both technical advancement and long-term strategic growth.”

Federico M Pesci, Chief Scientific Officer, Power & Water

EarthScale is powered by a network of universities across the UK, including Imperial College London (lead), Cranfield University, University of Derby, University of Exeter, University of Leeds and University of Nottingham. The programme is co-funded by the Research England Development Fund until 2028.
